RED CEDAR SHINGLES

Cedar shingles have been popular for years, and for good reason. The unique wood is strong and durable and has an unparalleled beautiful finish. A cedar roof shingle is thinner than a shake. It is sawn smooth on both faces and has a very neat, uniform finish. Cedar roof shingles can be pressure treated or fire treated if necessary.

Cedar shingles are available in 2 grades: #1 grade, which is 100% edge grain, 100% clear cedar; #2 grade, which is 80% edge grain, 20% flat grain and can have knots in the top 5 inches of the shingle. They are available in 3 different types:

5X Shingle (Available Special Orders Only)

1/4” thick at the butt end
16” length
Available in #1 grade
Applied at a 5” exposure

Perfection Shingle

3/8” thick at the butt end
18” length
Available in #1 grade and #2 grade
Applied at a 5 ½” exposure

Royal Shingle (Available Special Orders Only)

1/2” thick at the butt end
24” length
Available in #1 grade
Applies at 7 ½” exposure

White Cedar Shingle

1/4” thick at the butt end
